Who is Partnership For?
WHO PARTNERSHIP IS FOR
SOLID partners with schools, youth-serving organizations, municipalities, community groups, nonprofits, and agencies looking to increase student engagement, build positive culture, support social-emotional development, and connect young people with meaningful mentorship and opportunities for youth ages 11–25 in Paterson, New Jersey.
Our programs are designed to provide a safe environment and consistent mentorship through skateboarding, art, trips, workshops, and community engagement as tools for violence intervention and prevention. These experiences help young people build confidence, develop healthy relationships, strengthen emotional resilience, and create positive pathways forward.
SOLID also uses these programs as a tool to build healthy community connection and reduce the harmful effects of isolation, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges many young people face today. Through authentic relationships, creativity, movement, mentorship, and positive peer culture, youth are given opportunities to feel connected, valued, supported, and empowered.
Our programs are especially effective for:
• Schools seeking engaging SEL and enrichment programming
• Students who benefit from hands-on, relationship-based learning
• Youth who may feel disconnected from traditional activities
• Attendance, behavior, and school culture initiatives
• Violence prevention and intervention efforts
• After-school and summer programming
• Leadership and youth development programs
• Community schools and alternative education environments
Through authentic connection, positive community experiences, and consistent mentorship, SOLID creates environments where young people feel seen, supported, challenged, and empowered.
